A New Song


I waited patiently for the LORD to help me,
and he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the pit of despair,
out of the mud and the mire.
He set my feet on solid ground
and steadied me as I walked along.
He has given me a new song to sing,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see what he has done and be amazed.
They will put their trust in the LORD.

This scripture really speaks to me. After we lost our son Ian, I became angry and bitter, at the world and at God. But after months of praying and crying it hit me.....God is the same God that He has always been. He is the same when we are happy and He is the same when the storm rages on! He doesn't promise us an easy pain-free exsistance, but he does promise to love us and hold us when we need him!

That's the definition of holiness, I.E., I find that so comforting as well. My dad was diagnosed with cancer at the same time that our adoption agency experienced some changes that made me fear for our possibilities for adoption. Our choir sang a song Lord, You're Holy at that time and I couldn't keep it together I was so amazed.
